Editorial Policy

Editorial Policy

DatumFan aims to publish sports coverage that is useful, timely, accurate and clearly distinguished from advertising or promotional material.

Accuracy

Writers and editors should make reasonable efforts to verify material facts before publication. Scores, schedules, player information, rankings, injuries, transactions and competition details should be checked against reliable sources whenever available.

Information that cannot be reasonably verified should not be presented as confirmed fact.

Source Standards

We prefer primary and authoritative sources such as official leagues, teams, schools, governing bodies, event organizers, verified public statements and credible reporting organizations.

Secondary sources may be used when appropriate, but important or disputed claims should be independently checked whenever practical.

Headlines

Headlines should accurately represent the underlying article. DatumFan does not intentionally use headlines that materially misstate the content, invent outcomes or imply certainty that the reporting does not support.

Quotes and Attribution

Direct quotations should be accurately attributed. We do not knowingly invent quotes or attribute statements to people who did not make them.

Updates

Sports stories may change rapidly. Articles may be updated as scores, schedules, injuries, official announcements or other relevant information develops.

Commercial Independence

Advertising, affiliate relationships and other commercial arrangements should not control our editorial judgments. Commercial content should be disclosed where required.

Artificial Intelligence

DatumFan may use artificial intelligence and automation as editorial support tools. Their use does not eliminate our responsibility to review information for accuracy, relevance and appropriate attribution before publication.
